The Continuing Saga of J’s Notes Redesign Taking They Byron’s advice, the redesign idea now incorporates the original color scheme and background as well as a closer layout to the current one except for the third column. Navagation to all those links is a wee bit easier on the new site and I don’t think it’s such a drastic redesign that it will throw anyone off. What do you all think?

Are pop-up ads allowed on Google? Google does not allow pop-up ads of any kind on our site. We find them annoying. So why do they occasionally appear when you search on Google? Here are a few possible explanations:

New design? Hey, everyone, I’m thinking of changing the layout of J’s Notes to this little thingy I whipped up the yesterday. Now I turn to you all, should I change it? Which design do you like better, the current one or the new one? Let me know using the “speak” link on the bottom of this post here, use it, abuse it, say yea or nay, let me know. What works best for you all? What’s easiest to navigate? What looks best? Stuff like that. I’ll keep listening until I make up my mind.

So, in the tradition of Jish.Vox I’m going to start recording myself and posting it to J’s Voice!

Now, this also expands on a belief I’ve held for a long time that audio still hasn’t been fully utilized on the web. Think of all the uses, everyone has stuff folks can read, how many people have audio? Hear their voice. It’s no different than say a webcam, really. Tap into it, use it, abuse it, it’s not too hard, most folks have a mic. Most folks have an MP3 converter. You can get a minute of voice in under one meg of space and that’s pretty quick to download on a 56k modum. Try it.

Spanish bar manager warns of “Thai euro” The owner of a bar in northern Spain was in for a nasty surprise recently when he emptied his automatic cigarette machine: included in the takings were five Thai coins that had been used in place of two-euro pieces, a newspaper reported here Thursday.

The five coins in the Thai currency — the baht — were worth 26 euro cents, according to the Catalan daily El Periodico.

The 10-baht coin resembles the two-euro piece in appearance, weight and size, the paper said.

J’s Five is my new project. What is J’s Five? It’s where I find someone and ask them five questions. Nice and simple really. Who do I ask these?
