Under The Covers Update

Tuesday, July 12th, 2005

Hey, folks, just to keep people posted as to the status of Under The Covers, my radio show for WVCW, I plan on returning to the air in August, just in time for the Fall semester to begin.

I’ve just grabbed a slew of new covers and I’m working on the playlists for the first few shows, but please keep sending in any recomendations for songs to wvcwutc@gmail.com and I’ll do my best to get them into rotation.

Thanks for your support and patience and hopefully I’ll be back up and running soon.

London Rocked By Explosions

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

Near simultaneous explosions have rocked London, killing several people and injuring dozens in what UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said was an apparent terror attack coinciding with a meeting of G8 leaders in Scotland.

A series of at least six explosions caused mass panic and brought the London transit system to a halt early Thursday, killing at least two people, police said.

The explosions rocked the city’s subway systems and up to three more hit buses in the city, all at the height of rush hour.

The blasts caused chaos and panic across the city, with dazed and bloodied survivors emerging from stations. The mobile phone network was overloaded, and many struggled to let others know that they were safe.

In the first report of casualties, City of London police told CNN there had been two fatalities at Aldgate east station. At least 90 people are reported to have been injured.

Via Instapundit, Michael Graham at The Corner says police are combing DC Metro to try make sure this isn’t a coordinated attack. The Washington Post reports on the stepped up security in Metro as well.

Instapundit has more links worth checking out here. The Corner also is continuously updating with lots of information as well.

An organization calling itself “Secret Organization — al-Qaida in Europe” has taken responsibilty for the attacks. Then again, you also have the G8 conference and London’s just having been awarded the Olympics to consider as potential motives.

Ugly situation. Please keep these folks in your prayers.
