Bits and Pieces

Man, the Vikings can’t win anywhere.

I want this.

Wanna bike and not get hit by cars? Maybe this’ll help. Though I just tend to avoid cars. Or bike smart. God forbid.

So when my PHP gets here (maybe tomorrow), should I make to where I can work my PC from the john?

Yahoo and Microsoft’s IM Crossover

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

Yahoo and Microsoft have announced plans to make their instant-messaging services interoperable in what analysts called a shot to market leader America Online’s AOL Instant Messenger and a defensive jab to newcomer Google.

Well, considering I don’t use either MSM or Yahoo’s IM system, this doesn’t do much for me, but whatever happened to that coalition formed a few years back that aimed to have all the different IM systems talking to each other? Business first, I guess.

CNET also tossed out this interesting little bit of info:

In July, AOL’s instant messenger counted 30 million users, while Yahoo and Microsoft’s IM services each had about 25 million, according to ComScore. The Yahoo-Microsoft partnership leaves the fledgling Google Talk in the dust.
I would bet that upwards of 75% of those users are crossover, though. I wonder how much money these companies actually make off of the IM systems.

Silly Yahoo! Sports.

WordPress

Sunday, October 9th, 2005

Anyone out there know how to make WordPress templates and apply it to a site and all that jazz? I’m trying to make put Artifice on a good CMS and need to convert the site to the templates but this stuff looks like gibberish to me and I honestly don’t have the time to sit and work it out.

New Comment Policy

It’ll only help cut back on some, but you now must be registered with Blogger to post comments. Not that it really matters. Most of the comment spam is from registered users. Bah!

Great Idea

Because better enabling states and localities to handle situations like this is just too much to ask.

What do Tom Delay and David Koresh have in common?

Same attorney.

Hope it doesn’t end the same.

Comment Spammers

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

Sweet Jeebus! I’ve been raided all weekend by comment spammers. And I can’t just turn off anonymous commenting because these folks have Blogger accounts.

Anyone else get hit hard lately?
