New Design And Other Notes

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Having rediscovered some old blogs I used to haunt I felt inspired to freshen up the J’s Notes design. Thus the new layout. Open to tweaks, but all the links are at the way bottom, thus opening up the page to the actual content which, while rare, is what folks are here for anyway, right?

All that said, I’m disappearing from the RVA area for the rest of the week as I and three others from WVCW hop a train to NYC for this year’s CMJ Convention. Five days and four nights of music, panels, parties and NYC. Should be some fun stuff.

I don’t like being out of town a week before Election Day but such is life. Stay tuned to the A-Team blog for nifty George Allen news and start working to Get Out The Vote!

GOTV For Allen

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I haven’t blogged a whole lot on here as of late about the upcoming Senatorial election (or much of anything else, really), but I have been saying a few things over at Allen’s A-Team blog. Namely this post about how to help get out the vote for George Allen. Now’s the time to really start talking up this race and telling people to get out and vote for someone that cares about the issues important to Virginians. With less than two weeks to go, everyone should do their part to get out the vote.

Work + School + Radio = No play time.

But I’m still around. My apologies to anyone who may have submitted to the once held RVA Blog Carnival. It will be back and is open to having other hosts if one would like to have a week on their blog.

Beck: The Information

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

Out today and worth the purchase. The sound is a lot like “Guero” (which I’ve heard was recorded after this) which is pretty good. I’m a bigger fan of his more mellow works like “Mutations” and “Sea Change” but this is a good, eclectic album full of Beck being Beck.
