    Fimian Fundraising Tops $838,000

(Oakton, VA) – In a statement released today, local businessman Keith Fimian announced he has so far raised $838,662 in his campaign to succeed Congressman Tom Davis in representing Virginia’s 11th Congressional District.

“Money isn’t everything, even in politics,” Fimian said. “But it helps to have enough to get your message out. I’m thankful for the support I’ve received from my friends, family and fellow Republicans.”

“I’ve never done this before, so asking strangers for money has not been easy,” said Fimian. “But I’m a fast learner and a fierce competitor, and with radio and TV ads so expensive in Northern Virginia, it’s going to take serious money to win this race.”

Fimian’s fundraising dwarfs that of his four democratic opponents. Added to the total he raised in 2007, his cash-on-hand is $742,045. Fairfax County Chairman Gerry Connolly reported $424,000 cash on hand; former Congresswoman Leslie Byrne $243,000 and Lori Alexander $8,000. Democrat Doug Denneny has not yet released his fundraising numbers.

“The point is not how much money you can raise, but what you will do once elected,” Fimian said. “If we want to change Congress we need to elect people who can bring new ideas and a different approach to the job.”

Keith Fimian is a Certified Public Accountant and founder of U.S. Inspect, the nation’s largest provider of home inspection services. Born into a Navy family, Fimian attended William & Mary on a football scholarship, captained the football team, and was invited to tryout for the Cleveland Browns. He and his wife of 26 years, Cathy, are the parents of three grown daughters.
