VCU is going to have its monthly siren test today. Not sure if the media turnout will be similar to the last few times, but there’s currently a helicopter circling the campus. Though that might be more tied to the excitement at University of Richmond yesterday than anything else.

Is this on a predictable day each month?

I believe it is always at noon on the first Wednesday of the month. It’s set up as a test of the system more than a drill, but just the same, I think it makes students numb and gives a tragic window of opportunity to someone who might want to do harm to folks. Just doesn’t make sense.
