This must be the best day EVER for Jenn. Two reasons. One, we’re going to see her secret husband tonight, Beck. Yeah, she loves him lots. A whole hell of a lot. More than she loves me.

But, the second reason this is her best day ever is currently in progress.

We are washing my hat.

Those of you that have known me over the past few years understand what a monumentous occasion this is. I have owned this hat for 4+ years and never washed it. This is the same hat I wore every day, 7 days a week, for 2-3 years straight. Yes, this hat is filthy.

How filthy? I rubbed a napkin across it and it came away black. I was speaking with my friend Adrienne one day and some how it came up how I washed my hair every day and her response was, “and then you put that filthy hat on it,” or something to that effect. My brother Art wore a hat similar to it one Holloween just to look like me, only everyone commented on how false he looked because his hat was clean.

It used to be pale green, now it’s olive.

This hat is dirty.

And now it shall be clean.

I think the dirt is the only thing holding it together. Wish it luck.

I haven’t told you all about my new car, have I? Yeah, last week I went out celebrated J’s Notes’ first anniversary by getting myself a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer! Oooooo…. It’s a pretty smooth car. Not quite the Mini Cooper, but a hell of a lot better than my ’94 Ford Escort Wagon that failed inspection and needed a grand put into it to pass. Never, ever buy a Ford, folks, not if you want to get your money’s worth.

So I took my new car and old girlfriend out to Charlottesville for a day trip yesterday. Quite fun. We walked around UVA and what not, nice day out and worth the trip. Need to do things like that more often. Jenn and I have been discussing moving out to C’ville to go to school next year, so it was neat to go out there and walk around and go “wow, we should move out here and go to school.” The best part of the trip, well, for Jenn, was probably the discovery of the Whole Foods, some hippy organic health food store that sold Jenn on moving to the area. It’s actually a neat store, pretty big for a health store and full of neat stuff that I’ll probably end up trying whether I want to or not. The joys of dating someone who cares more about my diet than I do.
